Chairman Mason asked if everyone had a chance to review the summary from November 17, 2021 meeting and asked if there were any questions, comments, or corrections. No one had any. Chairman Mason asked if there was a motion to approve; Matt Davis made a motion; Alan Griffin seconded. Motion passed. OLD BUSINESS: By-Laws Chairman Mason asked if Hope Downs had any updates for the proposed changes to the By-Laws. Hope stated they were in the Legal Department’s hands; it will be determined whether it must go before the County Commissioners. Chairman Mason asked if there were any questions; there were none. Radios Chairman Mason asked if Zak Whicker had any updates on the Common Template. Zak stated that the templates need to be turned in; send to Hope Downs or John Heysel to log and keep track of access so that the secured or encrypted channels are not in an unauthorized radio. Zak did ask anyone with questions or clarifications contact him so that we could be on track for the updates. Chairman Mason asked if there were any questions; no one had any. NEW BUSINESS Chairman Mason asked if there were items to add for new business; no one had any. OTHER ITEMS AND REPORTS 9-1-1 Center Chairman Mason asked Hope Downs to update everyone on the 911 Center. Hope stated they are working on updating the 911 Center’s KPI’s. Hope has asked for feedback from the Board if they have anything to add to the KPI’s. There are 24 staff members currently in training, three of whom are in class and four in Power Shift; they are call taking until they start dispatch training. There are currently promotions for QA Specialist, Shift Supervisor and two CTO’s. It is currently budget time, it has been keyed in and will be shortly reviewed by the County Managers office and Department Heads. There are Enhancements requested for 911; Motorola’s AC conversion and adding six new telecommunicators. We are asking current telecommunicators to take the Criticall test to see if the scoring is accurate. The three telecommunicators that are in training were introduced to the Board. They are the newest staff for 911 and started with New Hanover County in December. Chairman Mason asked if the center was fully staffed as Hope had been optimistic about in December. Hope stated no it wasn’t. We have lost a couple due to instances of family and retirement. Chairman Mason asked if anyone had any other items or questions; no one had any. IT Chairman Mason asked Gia Long if there were any updates from IT. Gia stated there is now a new CIO; Sunny Hwang. Gia asked if he had been added to the invites; Lynn will ensure he is added. Gia stated that they just had the kick off meeting for ASAP to PSAP. IT is also upgrading Central Square for the end of February. It is in the testing stage now. Chairman Mason asked if there were any other items; there were none. Chairman Mason asked if there was a motion to adjourn, Jerry Brewer made a motion, Matt Davis seconded. Meeting adjourned 11:40 am
