OLD BUSINESS:
Vice Chair Profitt asked if there were any items for old business; Hope Downs stated she did not have any items for old business but would like to introduce Andrew Langley. Andrew came
to New Hanover County 911 from Surry County and Wilkes County.
NEW BUSINESS
Vice Chair Profitt asked if there were items to add for new business; no one had any.
OTHER ITEMS AND REPORTS
9-1-1 Center
Vice Chair Profitt asked Hope Downs to update everyone on the 911 Center. Hope informed the Board that ASAP to PSAP went live.
Hope stated that the interviews for the open Assistant Director and 911 Supervisor positions will hopefully be filled in September.
There are currently 7 applicants going through the hiring process and if they all complete the application process that would put staffing in the overfill positions. The hardest part
of the application process is passing the Criticall test; there are about 20 to 30% that are passing the test.
They will have a new hire class in November, we may be able to go back to training academy starting quarterly rather than at the start of every pay period, which is bi-weekly.
Vice Chair Profitt asked if anyone had any other items or questions; no one had any.
IT
Vice Chair Profitt asked if there were any updates from IT. Gia Long stated that ASAP to PSAP is waiting on the last 2 alarm companies to respond for the project.
IT will be updating the version from Central Square to 22.2; hopefully this will improve the issues from Purvis.
Vice Chair Profitt asked if there were any other items; Andrew Langley did want to mention some radio issues with the channel banks for Kure & Carolina Beach.
There was an alarm that went unresolved with the paging. Part of the issue was end of life of the equipment though Motorola was able to locate a part to fix one of the issues.
Vice Chair Profitt asked if there were any other items; Chief Matt Davis asked about the 911 inquiries and statuses of the requests. Karen Benton stated that she was working on them
starting with the most recent and working back to get the requests worked through. Matt asked if the staff in the Center could assist or is it going to remain as a request with Hope
and Karen to process. Hope stated they were working on a resolution but for now to continue requesting through Hope and Karen. Karen did meet with Chief Smith last week to make changes
in routing and it will be presented at the next DRC meeting.
Vice Chair Profitt asked if there were any other items; there were none.
Vice Chair Profitt asked if there was a motion to adjourn, Steven Still made a motion, Jason Bishop seconded.
Meeting adjourned 10:24 am
