Library Advisory Board
March 16, 2023
Assembly:
The Library Advisory Board met in Regular Session on Thursday, at 1:30 pm at the Main Library,
201 Chestnut Street.

Vice Chair Mary Alice Baish convened the meeting at 1:30 pm.
Public Comment
No public comments.
Agenda Review
No changes.
Approval of Previous Minutes
The minutes from the last board meeting on February 16, 2023, were sent to the board prior to the
meeting for review.
Motion: Lynn Kozik MOVED, SECONDED by Patricia Lawler, to accept the minutes of the 02/16/23
meeting as written. Upon vote, the MOTION WAS CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

Friends of the Library
Tom Brimberry reported:
• FOL is hosting several book clubs.
• Working on Speakers for a program at the Northeast Library on 4/22 at 1PM. Will provide more
details closer to the date.
Library Foundation
Next meeting in May.
Director’s Report
Dana Conners reported:
Projects
• Northchase
o Board engagement sessions
o Community engagement sessions – 3/16 @ 6pm at Northeast Library; 3/23 @ 6pm virtual
o Survey has 830 responses to date.
• Project Grace
o No new news. Build still set for a later date TBD
• Holds Lockers
o Will be delivered next week.
Staff
• New Staff
o A new part-time staff member for Main Circulation has been selected. Making offer soon.
• Vacancies
o None!
• Stellar Awards
o February – Erin Gathercole @ Pine Valley
Other
• Reconsideration Policy in April or May
o Information on how to handle book concerns and challenges has gone out to all staff and
the LAB.
• Safe Place
o The Main Library is now an official Safe Place
• NE Shelter
o Plans for a shelter area behind the Northeast Library are underway. It should be ready by
this summer.

Committee Reports
Vice Chair Mary Alice Baish requested the Policy committee to meet before or after the April meeting to
the library’s Request for Reconsideration policy.
