NEW HANOVER COUNTY PARKS CONSERVANCY BOARD PAGE 3 REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 17, 2023 Janine mentioned that the pump track fundraising subcommittee is meeting during the off months when the full committee meet. In those meetings they thought of ways to raise funds such as third-party events at a brewery where they could receive a percentage of the sales. One such event has already taken place. Janine and Mark Ihnat were speakers at the event. They were able to raise $900.00. There were cash donations totaling $185.00 and $500 was donated by a sponsor and the remaining amount was online donations. Cheryl helped to apply for the $87,000 grant from HDR, the company she works for, to fund the shade structure at the Northern Regional Park pump track. Terry Benji Foundation has a $2500 grant that is available. Janine asked Dave to send her the information so that she could apply. Spring Food Truck Rodeo will still take place, but no food truck rodeos will take place in the fall. Applied for WMPO for trail construction for North College Road.
